Loyal Scaiaholics know I grew up in Ohio. Several Ohio-based associates have been posting about the race for Senate.
Sherrod Brown, you see, is running for reelection to a third term. Brown is a Democrat, but Republicans outvoted Democratsduring the Ohio primary last week.
But loyal Scaiaholics also know I do not blog about politics, just hilarious things that happen because of politics.
One of those hilarious things might be considered an email from Sherrod Brown’s campaign saying it will absolutely NOT ask for a donation but then included a button to make donations:
My mom still lives in Ohio. I mentioned this to her, and her analysis was [I swear] that she did not care for Sherrod Brown because she does not like his hair. I told her to send those thoughts in her “Yes” email.
I’m told, now, that other candidates are apparently using the same strategy.
I’ve decided, though, that I may start adding this postscript to my emails, too. I’ll just have to divert my emoji guy to start working on a donate button:
I may also start carrying around a “Donate” button with me all the time, like the “Easy” button. And walk up to people at random and say, “Listen, I’m not gonna ask you to give me money, but if you wanted to give me just a little bit, I’d be okay with that.” I’d set the donate button on a picnic table or bench so the kids can play with it while you write your check.
