The Whataburger In-N-Out Series

the-whataburger-in-n-out-series

Last week, Texas flipped out when some outfit declared more Texans prefer In-N-Out to Whataburger. Even the governor weighed in.

So The Lord and Yogi Berra were hanging out in Heaven. Yogi Berra says to the Lord, “Nuts to that! Let’s shove Texas and California in a stadium together until they work it out!”

The Lord looks up from the paper, because He seems like the kind of dude who would still want to read a physical newspaper [I believe that’s in 2 Corinthians], and says, The Lord says, “I’ll allow it,” and orders an Astros/Dodgers World Series.

When he’s not dealing with fast food battles, the governor is also weighing in on the World Series. He took a lot of heat for tweeting too soon a couple years ago.

This time, he waited.

And people still got angry.

But they didn’t just get angry about the Astros. They got angry with the governor about everything.

I know the president enjoys tweeting enough that it’s been the topic on Sunday morning shows approximately 18,400 times since he took office, but I don’t understand why politicians would use twitter.

Abbott could probably tweet something as simple as “It’s partly cloudy today,” and a bunch of people would tweet back that he’s ridiculous because it is obviously mostly cloudy.

An associate recently texted me this picture. I feel like that’s how politicians would feel scrolling through their twitter feed. I’d probably want to respond to everyone with a snide remark, so it’s probably better I don’t run for office. If I do, though, I’ve already cleared up any questions about whether I coined the term, “funderful.”

Who will win this year’s World Series? That’s not my job. It wasn’t my job last year when I was still doing affiliate interviews, but we had a station in Chicago and not Cleveland, so it’s possible I became a homer. A homer who also happened to be right, so let me weigh in.

We’ve had Subway Series and Show-Me Series. I believe we should call this the “Whataburger In-n-Out Series.”

If the Astros hit the Buffalo Ranch Chicken Sandwich at clean-up, I’ve got to believe they’ll run away with this. Excuse me, they’ll run away with the Whataburger In-N-Out Series. It’s gonna be a thing.
